Eds LW2x make a statement to Selectors

The eds LW2x of Lee Armstrong and Liz Sparg convincingly beat the Zimbabwean LW2x in their doubles final yesterday. The Zim double placed 13th at worlds last year so olympic qualification may be a possibility for SA if form persists!!
Eds 8 too good!

A full strength 8 showed true form at the Riviera Vaal Regatta yesterday when they thumped Ravens BC in the Grand Challenge Eights final. Their winning margin of 3 lengths, along with a record time of 4m34s, shows promise for bigger things to come!

Favourable conditions helped Old Eds rewrite the record books in 4 of the premier events at the Riviera Vaal Regatta. New marks were set in the 8 ,4-,2- and w2x.

Eds won the 8 , 4-,4 , w2x,w1x and the C8 to mark a strong start to the season. The Eds A8 , not at full strength still managed to beat off Ravens by a length over the 1000m distance

Bruce Turvey, Rob Dormehl, Tony Paladin and Rod Mac Donald will race a head race in pairs at the RVR regatta on Saturday, which along with a 2000m erg trial next week will be used to select a final six who will attempt to qualify a LM4- for Athens
OLD EDS Wins R 10 000 at VLC Regatta

Old Eds Boat Club returned home from VLC Sprints R 10 000 richer after winning the points table at the regatta on Saturday. Eds topped the tables at 22 points after winning the 8 , 4-, 4 , w2x. VLC ended second on 18 points.
